La Frontera is a beach bar on the coast of Málaga that reached out to me in 2021 to develop the corporate identity for their new venue.

We worked together to define the style, build the brand, and then develop various assets needed for the restaurant’s operation.

Brief & style choice

During the initial brainstorming session, several concepts emerged: travel, relaxation, enjoyment, having a good time, the beach, and warmth. 

Additionally, we found it interesting to include references to the family history behind the restaurant. Being Argentinians who moved to Spain, their story blended very well with the concept of travel.

We went for a relaxed, laid-back, and minimal style, with vibrant and cheerful colors to create a fresh and enjoyable vibe.

The entire visual identity revolves around travel, suitcases, and flights. It made perfect sense, as the restaurant is located very close to an airport, and it’s common to see planes flying low over the beach. This is how La Frontera was born, with its slogan “Sand & Good Vibes” to capture the experience customers encounter.

Reinforcing concepts

The brand concepts offered plenty of room to play with the collaterals. As a result, the different menus were designed to resemble passports and boarding passes, which are handed to customers upon entering.

As complementary graphics, a full set of stamps was created, full of internal references, giving La Frontera a lot of personality.

Deliverables and brand guidelines

After completing all the brand identity and once the final versions were approved by the client, all resources were compiled into a best practices manual to assist the client in applying their new brand.

The deliverables were also exported in the required formats, finishing the proyect in this way.
